step - An Interactive Step Competition for Kids

step is an interactive step competition designed for children in grades 3 and 4. It aims to implement a unique motivation platform that encourages kids to be more physically active. By leveraging digital media, step taps into the current zeitgeist and the world of today's young generation to provide motivating incentives for children to engage in more physical activity. The competitive nature of the program fosters a sense of teamwork within the class.

As part of the project introduction, children receive free fitness bands. These fitness bands track their physical activity in the form of steps, which are then easily read by the step app. The app aggregates the collected steps and compiles them into a virtual "class step account".

Through a step competition, participating classes compete against each other.

The website provides children with access to regular movement challenges, gamified incentives for physical activity, and information to raise awareness about healthy eating.
